There are a few rules I follow to make it possible to control the chaotic environment of sport,. These rules are:
• Follow evidence-based practice standards – this helps me choose between eye-catching interventions and truly effective ones, so we use our most precious asset, time, wisely. It also keeps me within the boundaries of my competency so the purpose of the system remains clear.
• Education at the center of the system – educating athletes and the coaches about the interventions we use and the effects of our work makes all the difference. It is correlated with higher motivation, greater involvement in the process, and better outcomes.
• Coaching – providing athletes with a philosophy that makes them better through an improved approach to rest, training, nutrition, mental health, and performance.
• Highest communication standards – this is a must. There is no success without it. Being fully aware of this, I pay extra attention to communication, using the right tools to make it possible online.
• Set the goal, plan, execute, analyze, repeat – each journey starts with setting the goal using the SMART goals approach. Then I make sure we have a solid plan to get there, including possible obstacles and detours. Next comes execution and analysis of the outcomes. By repeating this process over and over, we eventually reach the ultimate long-term goal, which is:
